We love West Cornwall. We've lived and worked here for over 25 years and have set up Raftra Retreats in order to offer you the opportunity to experience the magic of this wild and beautiful place too. Out of holiday periods we specialise in holidays for couples and people wanting to take some quiet space on their own, and during holidays we also welcome families who want to experience an old-fashioned, back to nature holiday. Raftra is a small rural hamlet close to the stunning coast between Porthcurno and Lands End; ideal for wild walks, bird and dolphin watching, sea-swimming, and days on the beach with a picnic and a good book! Because this is such a wild and peaceful place, and for much of the year you can walk for miles without seeing a soul, it lends itself to deeply nurturing and creative breaks. lf you want to use your time down here to take stock &/or to learn some new skills, we also offer walk and talk therapy, creative life-coaching, and inspiring art classes on site, and have friends who offer wild food walks, bushcraft, surfing, yoga and holistic massage nearby. We've set up the accommodation to provide you with the little things that can help you to get the most out of your stay; maps of our favourite walks, list of places to visit and cafes, pubs and restaurants; indoor and outdoor fires to sit and dream in front of; a great selection of books, DVDs and games, and a few essentials for the beach too. So if you're coming by public transport, bike or on foot you won't have to carry too much! We also welcome well-behaved dogs in Raftra Barn and the Bolt Hole. The properties sit on a 4 acre plot which we are gradually planting up with hedges and trees to provide shelter and privacy......it may take a few years for these to establish, and in the meantime your view will be of a pretty meadow surrounded by Cornish hedges, with a view across Porthchapel valley to St Levan church and the sea beyond. We look forward to welcoming you to this very special part of the country. Toby & Claire
